For work
HOP will define a fresh new specification for film and television production. The architect’s vision brings to life a world-leading, signature studio campus specifically designed to provide an all-encompassing creative facility for major projects. HOP will provide a long-term home for productions where workflow efficiency, COVID management, wellbeing of cast and crew and access to essential support services are at the centre of site operations - Simultaneously driving down production costs.
The masterplan is formed around the concept of bringing crews to site, then making their working lives simple, comfortable and fun. The HOP team know that the experience of crews can be deeply transient, particularly in a time of increased post-pandemic investment in production allied to severe shortages of truly experienced crew. Our commitment is to make the experience of production one that the end user looks forward to - Making the decision to book time at Home of Production an easy one, simply because we are offering something that cannot be found elsewhere.
Take your place at HOP
HOP is home to major film studios looking to enjoy a location with features that cannot be found elsewhere - Early engagement also offers the opportunity to interact with the design and begin to shape the facilities around specific needs.
With a phased construction programme, early occupation can be accommodated for those wishing to take advantage of the facilities in spring of 2024 with the full operation of the whole of Phase 1 in the first half of 2025.

HOP Bedfordshire offers:
The Site
Facilities and Services
By Producers for Producers
The HOP development team are wholly invested in the project . This is not a speculative plan to shake up the production sector - We own the site and are committed to creating a world-class facility that returns real value to communities around it.
Site-central production offices provide workflow efficiencies. At the heart of the site there will be an office, a gym, restaurants and cafes overlooking a central canal. This arrangement allows a range of outdoor filming, social and business possibilities.
A transport hub will connect to the local bus network linking the new housing areas of Wixams, Stewartby and Marston Vale. There will be an arrival point for cyclists, pedestrians and coaches to serve a potential community facility.
Four main production zones capable of being physically separated to promote security, health & safety and efficient workflow. Each zone is set around stages with low workshops at their circumference, and features the critical spaces a production unit needs.
Each production zone can operate in COVID isolation, serviced by dedicated workshops, production offices and on-site support services including signature lighting, camera, grip, rigging and materials suppliers.
The site is designed to be fully accessible - Making the choice to bring crews here a simple one, in that HOP is a facility that is suitable for all. We remove limitations by designing a site where user experience is the same for every person visiting site.
Flexibility to modify layout and zoning to accommodate production requirements - With onsite, dedicated backlot areas serviced with power, welfare and workshops.
The campus will embrace existing water bodies, woodland and grassland areas, providing essential privacy for productions. This creates clear separation between working zones, whilst also ensuring the safety of every person visiting site at all times.
On-site accommodation with self-contained suites for crew and production, daycare creche, post production, screening rooms, medical centre, set storage and VIP / executive peninsula enclave.
